Bowling Day Surprise

My husband and two of the children are on a Youth/Adult bowling league and they had their season end party for which I was asked to bring a dessert. Of course I said yes and boy did we have fun creating this....

I didn't have time to go out and search out a bowling pin cookie cutter so we made one from hard plastic (now that was quite interesting) and it served us well. It was a double decker marble cake with homestyle creamcheese frosting.
I didn't STRIKE out here, seemed to be loved by all!

Happy New Year

I didn't posted many of my creative collections from last year. I am hoping to do better this year. Here are a few things that I have done since the beginning of 2011!

I decided to 'adopt' a child for Christmas giving and since the little girl I choose also loves to draw and paint and doodle I made her this little sketch journal. I can't wait to see some of the entries she puts in there!

on the inside pages I prompt her with doodles of silly celebrations and 'where I live' pages and things like that. I will post some of her entries when I see her again!

Angels beside her

It was just a couple weeks ago that my Dear Daughter (18) totaled her truck. Talk about mommy nightmare. The reason I am posting it here is that I do believe it was God's Gift that spared her.

Yes I say she had Angels with her.

Frog Fridgie

I am getting into making animal fridgie magnets and this is the latest one I have done. I don't have pictures of the others cause I have mailed them off already but I thought this lil guy turned out pretty cute.

Tea for two

Here are two lil pouches I created for a Tea swap. They will hold two tea bags and a sugar pouch.

I hope the two partners I have will enjoy the pouches and the tea inside.

Bottlecap Pin Cushions

Now these were a lot of fun. What cute things you can come up with out of a throw away bottlecap.

Here I used two regular size soda bottle caps and one Large Mouth juice bottle cap. Check them out....

Now I am hooked. You know I will be making more of these. They are easy to carry with me when the girls have lessons and what not just like those cute lil stuffies. Ohh how easy it is to get hooked on this stuff.

I was always told... idle hands are the devils workshop. Well devil you aint got nuttin doin here!!!

Paper-less ATC

We were to make an ATC (Artist trading card) without using paper of any kind. I read the profile of my partner and saw that she likes gardening and birds so I created this first one... It is made of gardening fabric with a bird, a flower, and two lady bugs made from Shrinky dink plastic. The second one was inspired from a card I received from a friend a long time ago (thanks Betz) It is made of felt and white cotton material. I used marker to draw the lines on the felt and glitter glue for the 'frogs' eyes. (Yes that is supposed to be a frog :-( ... I tried)

I hope my partner will enjoy these.

Cup cake pin cushion

I forgot to show the cupcake pin cushion and tree ornament that I made a couple weeks ago. It was for a Cupcake Christmas Ornament swap that I had to resend because it never made it to where it was supposed to go.

My partner mentioned on her profile that she likes 'different' pin cushions so I made this flower pot pin cushion to go along with her ornament. I hope she likes it.

Felt Fun

It felt good to get my photo's of my stuffies posted. I was going to wait until all the recipients received them in the mail but most of them don't even know about this blog of mine, so I decided to go ahead and post them when I was up in the wee hours of the morning unable to sleep.

Well I had so much fun with them that I spent some time today sewing little Tea Time Bags. These lil pouches are the perfect size to hold two regular size tea bags or a tea bag and sugar. They were simple to make but I found peace in doing them. Just what the Dr. ordered. A simple project to give myself a sense of accomplishment.

Hummm now I think I will have some Tea!!

Valentine's Day Stuffies

I have organized a swap HERE just for fun. I will receive a 'stuffie' from one person and I have sent this one out to my partner...

They both measure 5" tall and the owl is free standing. It was a lot of fun making several differnt stuffies before I decided which to send to my partner. I send a turtle out, and one other stuffie as well (but I can't mention it here until the person I sent it to receives it heehee) I will be sure to post pictures of them soon.
I think I will have to organize another swap just like this one, I really enjoyed it!

An ornament for Christmas

Here is the wooden ornament I made for a White Elephant exchange this weekend.

I really enjoyed making it and I think I might make a few cards the same.

Winter Journal

I took part in a Winter Journal swap where we were to take a notebook and transform it into a Winter Journal for our partner. My partner said she liked cats and snow so this is what I came up with for her.

I put foamy snowflakes and stars all around the cover and then watercolored a kitten in a sleigh on the bottom corner.

inside I put stickers of kittens here and there that were dressed for winter or playing in the snow. I hope she likes it.

Re-useable Shopping Bag Swap

Here is a Crafty swap I did that required us to make three re-useable shopping bags. Here are two that I made for one of my partners. The othe bag was a crocheted bread bag that I finished at the park right before taking the box to the post office therefore I didn't get a picture. On the green bag there are two Vegan recipe's and a fall tree background, iron on fringed after being sewed on. The other is just a basic bag with lobsters all over and a hidden coupon pouch. I really enjoyed making these and have now volunteered to make three more for someone who got flaked. I will be sure to post them here as well.
